The first resume example is very ho-hum, and uses
undesirable mixed alignment — centering (at the top) with left alignment. The headings are the same typeface as the body text, just bigger and bolder. The example on the right is more
attractive and user-friendly. The contrasting text is
heavier and a different typeface family altogether. The job titles have also been made bold to stand out from the rest of the text, aiding the potential employer in determining appropriate experience for the position being sought. The mixed alignment has been eliminated. Finally, rules (lines) have been added to differentiate the sections of the resume. The red vertical lines indicate a contrast of alignment, which accentuates the section headings and dates of employment, further adding to the user-friendliness of the piece. | |
